We have temporarily discontinued national conference calls.

Join us in these national conversations for young people with wealth and hear from presenters on a variety of topics like: cross-class relationships, socially responsible investing, economic justice organizing and globally-minded giving. The calls are a great way to connect with people in the RG community across the country.

Who participates in National Conference Calls?
Young people (18-35) with wealth who care about social change. In addition, presenters will be on the line for several calls help us explore the topics.

These calls are designed to be a confidential space for young people with wealth to explore their relationship to money, class and privilege.

How do I sign up?
Just contact Jamie at jamie@resourcegeneration.org if you would like to participate. Once you RSVP, you will receive a call in number and further information about the call.

September 21 Being Part of a Community of Young People with Wealth
What does it mean? What are the parts that feel challenging? What about it is beneficial? What are the pitfalls? Where are we looking to go within the framework of social change? Come together in this call to discuss what it means to be part of a community of young, progressive people with wealth.

October 6 Class and Activism
What does it means to be a young person with wealth and to be an ally in social change? Join long time activists to discuss our experiences with class dynamics in our activism and hopes for strong cross-class alliances.

November 10 The Election and Grassroots Organizing
You know it. You’re going to need to process this one. What kind of impact has the presidential election of 2004 had on grassroots organizing? And what kind of impact will the outcome have in the next year for grassroots groups?

November 15- Mobilizing Family Foundations for Social Justice
Join this call co-sponsored by Resource Generation and Changemakers to strategize how to mobilize family foundations for social justice.  How can we work together to double the dollars and the number of foundations
supporting social change?  Share your story of how you’ve approached social change philanthropy in your family foundation and how we might reach out to others. Join people of all ages, family members, representatives or partner organizations and other young people with wealth on this call.

December 1 Partners of Privilege
Join this space to talk about what it means to be the partner of a young person with wealth. What is challenging? What surprises you? What are you craving to talk about?! Use this space to discuss it all and connect to others sharing similar experiences.

December 14th Your Social Change Giving Plan
So you have been working on your giving plan and you are totally excited to share the progress you’ve made! Or, you have been meaning to work on your giving plan and really need a deadline so you can finish. Or maybe it would be great to get some eyes (well ears anyway) on your plan to keep you motivated or work through some of the sticky places. Now is your chance! Join this call to talk about your giving plan, ask questions about how to move forward, and let others know where you are in the process.

January 12 Globally Minded Giving
What does it mean to consider giving globally? What if you want to give internationally but don’t know how? How can local giving include a global perspective? And what about that giving plan you’ve been meaning to get to - Now’s your chance!

February 9 Young People with Wealth and Anti-Racism Work
How are we as young people with involved with anti-racism work? How do we talk about our privilege within this context? How does our race analysis impact choices we make regarding our giving or investing? What does it mean for a young person with wealth to be anti-racist? Join this call and delve into all of these questions, and no doubt more.

March 9 Community Foundations, Women’s Foundations & Social Change
Hear from young leaders to learn about public foundations that are involved in social change grantmaking in specific communities around the country. As young donors we can connect with these foundations to broaden our relationships with a variety of social change groups and get input on focusing our own grantmaking.

April 13 Cross Class Relationships
What challenges come up in friendships and partnerships that span class differences? How do we talk about it together? We will share our stories and think about how we can work towards strengthening these important relationships in our lives.

May 11 Financial Advisor Hotline
"Hello? Hello? Yes, um, Financial Advisor Hotline? Yes, now what is this crazy trust document all about?" Confused about your financial statements? What are mutual finds anyway? And why does everyone keep talking about equity? Dial in to reach a real, live financial advisor who can help answer your questions whether it’s about social change investing or decoding a trust.

June 8 Tell It Like It Is? Being Public About Money
What does it mean to be open about our wealth and class? How does it impact our work, life, and activism? What are our fears surrounding being public? RG folks will share their stories about what this means for them and their work for social change.
