Come learn about the CORE (Catalyzing Our Resources for Equity) Program at a reception hosted by Resource Generation and CORE Advisory Committee Members Anthony Colon and Theo Copley. CORE is developing programs for young people of color with wealth and organizing for racial equity and inclusion within Resource Generation and beyond.  All RG delegation members are invited, as well as friends, allies and colleagues at the Summit who are interested in learning more about CORE and Resource Generation. RG constituents and allies in the DC area are also invited to join us.  Appetizers & drinks.

Hosted by Brotherhood/Sister Sol at their building in Harlem.  A discussion for young people of color with earned wealth.

An informal evening conversation in a home, for young people of color with wealth.

Join us…if you want to help:

  • Build a strong community of people of color who want to use personal wealth (or future access to wealth) to change society.
  • Discuss how money affects relationships with family and friends.
    Talk with other young people of color about issues of money, privilege, and giving
  • Learn how the giving traditions of diverse cultures can contribute to the practice of social change philanthropy
  • Support grass-roots groups that engage in community organizing and advocacy to change systems and strengthen communities.
  • Create an action plan for how we can use our privilege and resources to help dismantle racism, poverty, injustice, and inequality.

CORE offers:

  • Local events and dinners to meet people of color with wealth and community activists
  • Workshops on social justice philanthropy, anti-racist grantmaking, creating a giving plan, and many more
  • A people of color caucus within Making Money Make Change – a national 4-day retreat for young people using their wealth to make change
  • Resource Generation’s 10 years of experience supporting and challenging young people with wealth and working in the field of social justice philanthropy
