Our Workshops for young people with wealth give participants a chance to explore in-depth a variety of topics related to wealth, identity and social change. The workshops were created with input from young people with wealth across the country who are a part of the Resource generation network and happen primarily at national conferences.

Come find the inspiration, information and support you need to learn more about your resources and take action! These workshops are designed to be a confidential space for young people with wealth to explore their relationship to money, class and privilege.

To find out about having a workshop in your area contact Elspeth at elspeth(at)resourcegeneration.org.

Who facilitates these workshops?
Workshops are led by young people who are trained facilitators with expertise in the topics addressed. Facilitators bring a range of social change experience and are from diverse class backgrounds.

Workshop Topics:

Does Money Change Everything?
Does money really change everything? How do we talk about it and who do we talk about it with? Why does wealth make us feel isolated, frustrated, paralyzed? These questions can come with the territory of being a young person with wealth—and often block our way to taking action around our resources. In this workshop we’ll come together to share some of our challenges and gain new perspectives on how our experiences with money impact our lives, our relationships and our work in social change.

The Other Taboo: Talking about Class

What IS class privilege really and how do we talk about it? Why is class such a taboo subject anyway? How are class differences created and enforced and what do our own experiences have to do with that? How can understanding our class privilege make us better allies in movements for social change? This workshop will cover all the things your mother told you never to talk about (well, maybe not all of them...)

Your Social Change Giving
Plan
Thought about giving, but don’t know where to start? Been giving for a while and want to be more effective? Wondering about things like shared decision making, addressing root causes, and being more accountable in your giving? Then come hear about other young donors’ experiences and create your own giving plan! This workshop is a great chance to learn more about social change philanthropy and pick up tons of tools and resources to help you jump start your giving.
