OFFICE AND ADMINISTRATOR

Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Co-Directors, the Office Administrator is responsible for the administrative needs of Resource Generation. This position is integral to the success of our organization and staff team. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, with excellent benefits.

WRITING / LITERARY INTERN

RG is hiring an intern in New York City to work 5-10 hours per week from December 2011 to March 2012. The intern will be responsible for transcribing interviews and for the development of a resources section (annotated bibliography, glossary, etc) for RG's forthcoming book for people of color with wealth. Interns will gain knowledge of writing for social change, curriculum development and the field of social change philanthropy.

***This internship is unpaid, but we can provide school credit.  Intern must be able to work at least one of the following days: M / T / F***

A qualified candidate will display:

  • An interest in social justice, racial justice, philanthropy, and youth organizing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with social justice curriculum and trainings
  • Familiarity social change, organizing.
  • Ability to maintain and convey sense of levity in writing when dealing with serious topics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Job Title: Communication  and Database Technology Fellow
Location: Seattle, WA

Fellowship Description: Resource Generation is currently (as of Feb, 2012) seeking one Communication and Database Technology Fellow, to work closely with RG's Co-Director, Michael Gast, on several long-term projects, including building out a membership website, and development of our Salesforce database. This is a great opportunity to build your resume and experience while working with a dynamic and respected national social justice organization. This is a part time volunteer fellowship, though a small stipend may be available for the right candidate. The time commitment will be approximately 7 to 15 hours a week, though scheduling is flexible, starting as soon as possible and lasting 3 to 6 months.

Qualifications include:

  • An interest in social justice and community organizing, and support for RG’s mission.
  • A strong sense of organization and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience and/or interest in working on databases and CRM (customer relationship management) systems. Salesforce experience ideal.
  • Experience with social media and communication tools such as Facebook, Twitter, Google Groups and more.
  • Strong computer skills, ideally with some web editing or design experience.
