Welcome to RG’s Membership and Strategy Drive! 

October 14-November 16, 2026 

This fall, we’re beginning a months-long strategy setting process to decide the next chapter of RG’s future and where we have the most leverage to enact the most wide-spread change. This is a call for all young people with wealth and class privilege to join us in building a collective strategy that will help shift the tides to the left. 

We’re kicking off our process with our open invite to the RG Strategy Call on Wednesday, October 14 where we’ll build shared foundation by anchoring together in RG’s political analysis. Afterwards, members will bring back these conversations to their chapters, dig more deeply into the political analysis, and begin developing ideas for RG’s future strategy. 

Later on, on October 28, we’re hosting a National Strategy and Culture Listening Session for all members to share thoughts, questions, and reactions to the strategy and culture questions on the table. (Reminder to renew or join RG to be part of these conversations!) Once all listening sessions and brainstorms have concluded nationally and in-chapters, the National Member Council will begin drafting ideas for what comes next.

RG Strategy Call Part 1: Building our Foundation and Exploring our Political Analysis

Before we decide where we’re going, we need enough shared language and understanding to make those decisions together. For those who can’t make this call, the recording will be circulated to all chapters for their strategy discussions.

Strategy and Culture Listening Session

A space to explore how investments can align with our values and political commitments. We’ll look at how capital can be shifted away from extractive systems and toward strategies that support collective liberation and long-term movement infrastructure.

What is a Membership Drive?

Resource Generation is a membership organization. Each year, we run two time-bound Membership Drives to grow our base, deepen organizing skills, and fund our shared work. The Spring Organizing Drive is one of those drives. It’s a focused period where we grow our base, deepen political commitment, and move resources in alignment with our values.

The more we mobilize members to make bold commitments to wealth redistribution, the more movements can win. In 2024 alone, nearly 450 people signed our Redistribution Pledge, committing $106 million to support movements and build the world we need.

Beyond the pledge, RG supports national campaign partners like Movement for Black Lives and Popular Democracy, while also resourcing chapter-led and working group fundraising for local campaigns.

We do this by offering leadership development, skill-building, and organizing support so members can take action with clarity and confidence. Members are asked to contribute 5-10% of their overall redistribution to sustain RG’s work and infrastructure.

When membership and redistribution commitments are organized together, they strengthen our chapters, expand our reach, and increase the resources flowing to movement partners.For more about membership, read our Membership FAQs.
